Karsen Burns is in her second season as the Graduate Assistant Coach for the Patriettes. Burns has experienced 18 years of dance training. She began her dance career in a local studio, quickly moving on to join their competitive team. In high school, Karsen was a four-year member of the Keller Central High School Varsity Lightning Dancers. There she served as Junior Lieutenant and Captain her senior year. Burns was also recognized with Rookie of the Year, Junior of the Year, Lightning Dancer of the Year, and Most Inspiring Senior.

Karsen went on to attend McLennan Community College in the fall of 2019 to be a member of the McLennan Community College Dance Company. Here she served in a leadership position her sophomore year, was recognized with Sophomore of the Year, and won the title of DIII Jazz National Champion 2021 with her team.

Burns graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Health, Kinesiology, and Leisure Studies and a minor in Dance. During her time at Baylor, Karsen was also a member of the Songleader Dance Team. Her first year she was awarded New Member of the Year and served as Captain her senior year. She also had the opportunity to learn about team management as an intern for the Baylor Spirit Squads in the fall of 2022.
