Cory Marr enters his fourth season as the Assistant Coach for the DBU Women’s Soccer program after originally joining the staff as a Graduate Assistant in 2021. Since arriving at DBU, Marr has played a key role in helping guide the Patriots to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by the program’s historic run to the Final Four in 2021 and a South Central Regional Final berth in 2022.

During his three seasons as assistant coach, Marr has helped lead DBU to a pair of Lone Star Conference regular-season and tournament championships while compiling an impressive 47-6-8 record. Under his guidance, the Patriots have finished each season nationally ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, headlined by a No. 7 rankings following the 2022 season. Marr has also mentored six All-Americans and coached the Lone Star Conference’s two-time Player of the Year, Taylor Tufts.

Before returning to his alma mater, Marr gained valuable coaching experience at UT San Antonio, where he served two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach for the Roadrunners while also working with Solar Soccer Club, one of the premier youth clubs in North Texas. He began his coaching career at Permian High School in Odessa, Texas, where he was responsible for planning and running training sessions with a focus on the backline.

A 2018 graduate of DBU, Marr earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in management and a minor in sports management. As a member of the Patriots’ men’s soccer team, he not only competed on the field but also invested in ministry, helping launch the International Soccer Ministry to connect international students through the game of soccer and leading a weekly Fellowship of Christian Athletes Bible study.
