After playing soccer for Dallas Baptist University for the 2011-2014 seasons, Lea Sedwick enters her sixth year on staff for the DBU Women’s Soccer team and serves as the team's Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.  During Sedwick's five seasons on the Patriot coaching staff, DBU has advanced to the NCAA postseason all five years, reaching the Elite 8 in 2015 and the Sweet 16 in both 2018 and 2019.

The 2019 season saw DBU win both the regular-season and tournament titles in the Lone Star Conference.  Following a year in which the Patriots earned the No. 2 seed in the South Central Region and hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, Sedwick was part of a staff that was named the United Soccer Coaches Regional Staff of the Year. 

In Sedwick’s inaugural season as the team’s Assistant Coach in 2018, the Patriots won the Heartland Conference Tournament and advanced to their fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament where they each the Round of 16.

As a player, Sedwick helped guide DBU to three trips to the NCAA Division II Regionals, a NCCAA National Runner-Up in 2013, and was recognized as an All-American all four years.  In 2011, she was the only freshman in the nation to be named to the NCAA All-America Team by the NSCAA, capping off a remarkable year in which DBU finished the year ranked No. 15 in the country.  As a sophomore in 2012, Sedwick was named a NCAA All-American by Daktronics and a NCCAA All-American.  In her junior season in 2013, she earned NCCAA First Team All-American honors.  As a senior in 2014, Sedwick was named to the NCAA All-America squad by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.  Along with her All-American honors, she also has the distinct honor of being named the Heartland Conference's Offensive Player of the Year in 2011 and the league's Defensive Player of the Year in 2014.
 
In 2014, Sedwick was named to the NCAA Division II Capital One First Team Academic All-America Team. She was twice named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team during her career.
 
Sedwick graduated Summa Cum Laude from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 2015. In 2017, she graduated with her Master of Arts in Theological Studies from DBU and earned her NSCAA National Coaching Diploma. She resides in Kennedale and attends First Baptist Church Dallas where she is involved in the youth ministry.
