2009 Women's Soccer Roster
Biography
Freshman Emily Evans, from Flagstaff, Arizona, is the the DBU Athlete Spotlight for the month of October. Evans, who is the starting goalkeeper for the Lady Patriots Soccer team, has played in all 10 games for the Patriots in 2006 and has helped them compile a 6-4 record.
During the 10 games, Evans has helped the team secure four shutouts with strong play at the goalie position. Evans has 47 saves, 7 goals allowed, and a .93 allowed goal average per game in 677 minutes played.
Even though Evans is a freshman, she is starting to emerge as a leader on a talented team. Her teammates know they can rely on her to make the play when needed in big games. Evans looks to help lead the Patriots to a NCCAA title in 2006.
Head Coach, David Granniss comments, "Emily has been a fantastic addition to the program. She has 4 shut outs in 10 games and has a great chance to break the school record for goals against average in a season. Combined with a strong group of defenders, Emily has made our team very difficult to score on. We are hoping for great things from her in the future and we are enjoying her early success right now."
