Bri Coleman is in her second year as an Assistant Coach for the DBU Volleyball team. In Coleman’s first year at DBU in 2022, the Lady Patriots won a school record 25 matches, going 25-7 and earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. It marked the program’s first-ever at-large bid and their first trip to the NCAA postseason since 2013.
Coleman helped to produce three All-Americans in 2022 including AJ Koele, who became the program’s first-ever AVCA First Team All-American, along with Honorable Mention selections Lauryn Burt and Shaylee Shore. Burt was also tabbed the Lone Star Conference’s Setter of the Year and Newcomer of the Year under Coleman’s direction. Additionally, the Lady Patriots posted the nation’s 11t-best hitting percentage (.264) in Coleman’s first year on University Hill.
Coleman came to DBU from Baylor University where she completed her playing career as a four-year letterwinner and was a key part of a Bears team that reached the NCAA National Championship in 2019.
Coleman received her Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications and Masters in Sport Pedagogy. In her time with Baylor she helped lead the team to its first ever NCAA Final Four appearance. Serving as team captain, she also helped lead the team to two additional NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances. In her senior season as a serving specialist, Coleman led the Bears in total aces and aces per set on the season and was fourth in the Big XII in aces per set, however she took more of a coaching role after sustaining a knee injury.
While at Baylor, Coleman was a two-time Academic All-Big 12, three-time Academic Champion of Baylor Athletics, and Dean's List Recipient.
Coleman spent her time off the court serving as a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leader for Baylor Athletics and coaching volleyball camps. She is an active member at Highland Baptist Church in Waco serving in various ministries at Highland.
Coleman grew up in Valencia, California, and attended Valencia High School where she was named the 2017 All-Santa Clarita Player of the Year and a three-time All-Santa Clarita Team selection.
