Dallas Baptist University Athletics

Rodney Garrett enters his seventh year as the Faculty Athletic Representative at Dallas Baptist University.  Garrett earned his B.A. in Psychology and M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Dallas Baptist University. Rodney also completed his Ph.D. in Higher Education with a concentration in Community College Leadership from the University of North Texas.

Rodney has over 17 years of experience in academia and has served in leadership roles at community colleges, HBCUs, for-profit institutions, and private institutions. He served full-time on staff at DBU from 1995-1998. He began his higher education career as a member of the grounds crew at DBU and considers it an honor to serve as a faculty member. Rodney is a professor of Higher Education in the Gary Cook School of Leadership. He loves working with the athletic staff and student-athletes and serving the DBU family as FAR. 

Rodney attends Community Missionary Baptist Church in Desoto, Texas, where the pastor is Rev. Oscar Epps (DBU graduate and DBU Trustee).
