Nate Frieling is in his 23rd year at Dallas Baptist University and 15th as an administrator with sport administrator responsibilities over DBU Baseball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, and track and field. The Dallas native has been an integral part of the DBU athletic program since the baseball program transitioned to NCAA Division I competition beginning with the 2004 season and has helped the Patriots to unprecedented success over the past two decades.

During his time overseeing both internal and external operations on University Hill, DBU has seen continued growth in fundraising efforts to the Patriot Athletic Fund – including the baseball-specific Dugout Club – and sponsorship revenue through the Patriot Broadcasting Network, which Frieling helped launch in 2012. Frieling has coordinated international trips for DBU Baseball to Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Curacao, and Cuba.

He served as Tournament Director for the NCAA Dallas Regional in 2015, oversaw the Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Tournament at Horner Ballpark in 2018, is an active member of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Associations (NCBWA) and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), and will help lead the DBU efforts as they host the 2026 Conference USA Baseball Tournament at Horner Ballpark. He is also an adjunct professor in the Dallas Baptist University College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

Frieling graduated from Southwestern University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts after spending four years working alongside legendary baseball coach, Jim Mallon. He earned his Master of Science in Education degree from Baylor University where he worked with the baseball program for three years while seeing the Bears advance to three Regional Tournaments and the 2003 Super Regional against LSU. From Waco, Frieling returned to his home city in 2003 as an Assistant Baseball Coach at Dallas Baptist University.

In his first season, the Patriots won 44 games and captured the National Christian College Athletic Association National Championship trophy. In 2007, Frieling was named Recruiting Coordinator by first-year Head Coach Dan Heefner as DBU made a splash in collegiate baseball by receiving an at-large bid to the 2008 College Station Regional. The Patriots returned to the postseason as an Independent in 2011, won the Fort Worth Regional, and advanced to the NCAA Santa Clara Super Regional before ending the season with a loss to Cal.

During his time on the field at DBU, Coach Frieling worked with 13 NCAA All-Americans and saw 35 players sign professional contracts. After the 2011 season, Frieling stepped away from coaching and into his role overseeing athletic operations, facilities management, and internal operations for DBU Baseball. He created the Patriot Broadcasting Network in 2012 – one of the finest college broadcasting productions in the country – and had a part in the design and fundraising efforts to build Joan and Andy Horner Ballpark in 2013.

Frieling and his wife, Joy, reside in North Richland Hills with their three children and are members of Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Colleyville.
