The Dallas Baptist Patriot Basketball Team dropped their rematch against the East Central Tigers on Tuesday evening, 66-71. The Tigers snap a three-game win streak for the Patriots as they drop to 6-3 overall on the season.
Tuesday's game was similar to the Patriots win back on November 23, only with a different outcome at the end. Just as they had done three weeks ago at the Burg Center, DBU jumped out to an 11 point lead midway through the second half, thanks to a pair of free throws from Senior
Braxton Adamson. Adamson's free throws gave DBU a 41-30 lead with 12:48 left on the clock, but the Tigers quickly responded.
In front of their home crowd at the Kerr Center, ECU mounted a furious comeback, thanks to a 24-7 run over the next eight minutes of action. A layup by Tiger forward Hayden Darst gave the Tigers a 54-48 lead with 4:26 left on the clock.
The Tiger lead proved too much to overcome for the Patriots, as ECU pushed their advantage to as much as ten points with just under a minute to play.
Junior
Armie Lewis led the way for the Patriots, scoring 15 points and picking up three steals. Junior
Jordan McGowen chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds while Adamson ended the night with nine points.
The Patriots will return home for their next game on December 18, before taking a 12-day break for the Christmas holidays. Game time on the 18th will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Burg Center.
