Patriots Win Fourth Straight

Box Score

The Dallas Baptist Patriots moved to 7-4 in the Heartland Conference after they defeated the Falcons from the University of Texas at Permian Basin Thursday evening, 65-49. The win marks the fourth straight victory for the Patriots (14-8), and their second consecutive double-digit win.

For the second straight game, Braxton Adamson was on fire from behind the arc as he connected on 5 of 8 from three-point range. Over the past two games, Adamson has combined to knock down 12 three-pointers and is averaging 24 points.

After exchanging baskets early, DBU opened up a 10-point lead with 5:25 left to go in the first half after Eddie Gloviak tipped in a missed attempt by Jordan McGowen. The Falcons' Justin Bailey connected on three straight jumpers over the next three minutes, but two layups by Adamson pushed the Patriot advantage back to nine heading into halftime, 30-21.

Adamson then went to work from the outside to open the second half. The junior guard connected on his first three attempts from behind the arc and opened up a 20-point lead for the Patriots. Heath Wiechman knocked down two free throws with 9:21 remaining, and gave the Patriots their biggest lead of the night, 55-32.

The Falcons' Elijah Jordan connected on three consecutive three-pointers in the final three minutes, but it proved to be too little as the Patriots moved on to the 65-49 win.

Adamson ended the evening with 22 points, while Gloviak and Wiechman each chipped in 10 for the Patriots.

The Patriots continue their two-game road trip as they travel to Guymon, Oklahoma to take on Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday afternoon. Live coverage of the game, including an audio broadcast, can be accessed by clicking on the Live Stats link. Tip-off is slated for 4:30 p.m.
