The score remained close throughout the first half, with neither team able to build a substantial lead. However, Jordan McGowen's jumper with 5:37 left sparked a 14-1 DBU run, and gave the Patriots a 40-28 lead at halftime.

Dallas Baptist continued their attack in the second half, opening with another 10-2 run. Gloviak's layup, off of a spectacular half court assist from Armie Lewis, gave the Patriots a 52-32 lead at the 15:52 mark. DBU continued their aggressive play and tough defense for the remainder of the half, and held as much as a 32 point lead late in the game. Overall, the Patriots outscored the Blue Tigers by 17 in the second half alone, on their way to the 93-64 win.

Lewis ended a phenomenal night with a career-best, 11 assists, in only 24 minutes of action.
