Williamson Pitches Patriots Past McNeese State

The Dallas Baptist University Patriots defeated the Cowboys from McNeese State on Thursday evening by the score of 2-1, behind Junior Brandon Williamson, who pitched a complete game, allowing only one run on three hits and striking out five, improving to 3-0 on the year. With the win the Patriots improve to 7-2 on the season.

Williamson's first hit allowed and only mistake of the night was in the first inning, on a solo homerun, giving the Cowboys an early 1-0 lead.

The Patriots were held to two hits through the first five innings, but were able to get on the board in the sixth inning. Junior Tyler Robbins singled and Junior Jason Krizan and Freshman Duncan McAlpine walked to load the bases, which set up a two RBI double by Junior Ryan Thompson, giving DBU a 2-1 lead.

The Patriots resume action on Friday evening at 6:30 against Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, in their second game of the YMBL Cardinal Classic.
