The Dallas Baptist Patriot Baseball Team rallied with two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, but their comeback fell short as they lost to the 15th ranked Oklahoma Sooners, 8-4, on Tuesday night.
The Sooners struck first with a two run shot over the center field wall by Garrett Buechele to make it a 2-0 game in the first inning. Caleb Bushyhead added another run with his RBI double to score Kaleb Herren, who reached on a walk. Bryan Groth popped out to end the inning, 3-0.
After tacking on another run in the second, the Sooners scored two more in the third off Ross Hubbard's two run homerun to make it 6-0, chasing DBU Pitcher

The Patriots first hit of the game came on a homerun by Junior
Jason Krizan in the bottom of the fourth, making it a 6-1 game. Krizan's solo shot was his first of the season.

Ryan Millard pitched 3.2 innings, holding the Sooners scoreless through the sixth. Senior
Austin Knight made it a 6-2 game in the bottom of the sixth inning on a solo homerun, his third of the year.
The Sooners added two in the eighth but the Patriots responded with a two run homerun from Senior
Ryan Enos, making it an 8-4 game. The Patriots stranded two in the ninth, falling 8-4.
The Patriots return to action Friday, March 12, as they welcome the University of Memphis to Patriot Field. The first pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m.
