The Dallas Baptist Patriot Baseball Team defeated the Huskies from the University of Washington, 3-1, Thursday evening in Seattle. The win at Husky Ballpark improves DBU to 9-5 on the season, while Washington drops to 2-9.

Aaron Gilbreath started on the mound for the Patriots and picked up his first win of the season after pitching five and two thirds innings, allowing one run on five hits, and striking out two. Senior
Chris Haney earned the save after coming on in the ninth and striking out two of the three batters he faced.
After a scoreless first inning, the Huskies were first on the board with a single run in the bottom of the second. A lead off single by Ryan Wiggins resulted in the game's first run later in the inning when B.K. Santy connected on a RBI single to center field.
The Patriots did all their damage two innings later as they scored all three runs in the top of the fourth. With two outs, Senior
Tyler Robbins singled and later scored on a RBI double from Senior
Jason Krizan. Junior
Ryan Behmanesh made it back-to-back RBI doubles with his shot to left center, scoring Krizan and giving the Patriots the go-ahead run.

Kenny Hatcher capped off the scoring for DBU with his next at bat, singling to second base and sending Behmanesh across home plate for the 3-1 lead.
The Huskies would only get three hits over the remaining six innings, resulting in their ninth loss of the season.
Game two of the three-game series will take place tomorrow evening at 7:00 p.m.
