Men's Soccer Falls to A&M International


The Dallas Baptist Patriot Men's Soccer Team traveled to Texas A&M International University, Thursday, dropping a 4-0 decision to the host Dustdevils. The Patriots move to 2-6-1 on the season with the loss, 0-3-1 in Heartland Conference play.

Eduardo Gonzalez got the host club on the board just under seven minutes into the contest, on an assist from Adrian Ellcerio. Walter Anoruo scored almost 30 minutes later, with Gonzalez this time turning in the assist. Ellcerio tallied the third goal, with Juan Narvaez closing the scoring with a penalty kick goal.

For Dallas Baptist, David Balyeat, named Heartland Offensive Player of the Week, Monday, took three shots, all of which were on goal. All totaled, the Patriots took 10 shots, five of them on goal. The Dustdevils (4-4-2, 2-1-1 Heartland) took 13 shots, eight on target.

Chuck Schober (2-4-1), who Monday was recognized as last week's conference top defensive player, started and worked the entire contest in goal, registering four saves. Jesus Cisneros protected the goal for the Dustdevils, earning a pair of saves.

The DBU men have one more stop on their stretch of four consecutive road games, Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary's University. They will return to Patriot Field one week from tonight, hosting Oklahoma Christian University, Oct. 11, followed by Newman University, Oct. 13.
