Box Score
Continuing the pitching dominance started by
Cy Sneed and
Taylor Massey,
Stuart Pudenz (1-0) threw a pre-determined four innings in his first start of the season and gave up one earned run with six strikeouts as Dallas Baptist (9-6) completed a three-game sweep of Houston Baptist, 11-1, in the second game of a Sunday doubleheader.
Houston Baptist (4-10) collected only four hits in Game 3 of the series as
Jake Johansen and
Tyler Rockafellow each allowed one apiece in their scoreless relief innings but it was Pudenz who set the tone in the final game against the Huskies by facing only two batters over the minimum. Every batter in the Patriot lineup, except
KJ Alexander who walked twice, collected a hit with
Austin Elkins leading the way with a 4-4 day, including an RBI.
Boomer Collins picked up three RBI and
Ryan Behmanesh had two as both collected doubles in the game, including Collins' double that ended the game with two aboard as part of the ten-run rule agreed upon by both coaches on a Sunday travel-day doubleheader.
On the day, DBU had 14 hits as a club with five doubles and three stolen bases. Now hitting .285 as a team, Dallas Baptist will welcome the University of Oklahoma to Patriot Field on Tuesday night with both starters still to be announced.
