Several players had big days as the Dallas Baptist Men's Soccer Team opened Heartland Conference action with a 4-0 victory at McMurry on Saturday afternoon. Back-to-back wins over the Warhawks (1-7-1, 0-1) make it two straight victories for DBU (3-4, 1-0) after taking a previous matchup in non-conference play at Dallas. The win also is the first shutout for the Patriots this season.
Second year Head Coach,
Chris Crawford continues to be impressed with the effort. "Our focus this year has been team first, and that's what the guys did today on the pitch," Crawford explained. "Everyone put the team first and worked as a team giving everything they had."
The offense notched a season best four goals scored, with four different Patriot players finding the back of the net.
Sophomore
Brian Robertson continues his impressive stretch recording a goal in the team's third straight game and adding three assists. The Midlothian, Texas, native extended his team-high in goals (4) and points (13) after matching a career high five points, which also came against McMurry nearly two weeks ago.

David Balyeat (3), sophomore
Alex Becerra (1), and freshman
Seth Elliott (1). Three of the team's four goals came in the first half. DBU outshot the Warhawks 11-10.
Also claiming career-firsts was freshman, goalkeeper
Mason Stringer (1-0). After making his debut last contest against McMurry in the second half, the Burleson, Texas, native worked 90 minutes in his first collegiate start and earned his first career shutout.
"I am so proud of the guys today. It is a great way to start conference and we keep getting better each and every day," Crawford stated. "We have such a great group of guys that continue to impress me everyday. They love each other and our University."
Dallas Baptist travels to No. 9 St. Edward's University on Monday for a 12 pm kickoff.
