The Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer Team closes out the regular season with its longest winning streak of the year, and broke a program record following a 7-0 victory at the University of Texas-Permian Basin on Monday afternoon. DBU (11-5-1, 8-1) posted its ninth shutout win on the year and seventh in a row, which broke previous program-high set in 2011. UTPB (2-16, 1-8) drops its sixth in a row.

Jessica Salas got the Patriots on the board in the first minute with her third goal of the season. It was her first score since knocking a pair in a victory against Oklahoma Christian on October 14.

Things would remain that way until the 18:18 mark, when sophomore
Emilie MacDonald scored her first of two goals to extend her scoring streak to five. The Cedar Hill, Texas, native punched in a header from sophomore
Ashley Cox to double the score 2-0. It would remain that way through halftime.

Similar to Saturday's road contest, which saw a four-point second half, DBU would kick in five goals, coming just one shy of its highest output in a half at six on the year. Sophomore
Jolee Patterson finished a goal off a blocked shot attempt at the 49:05 mark to record her second goal of the season.

Less than 30 seconds later, senior
Danielle Presley joined the action by scoring off an assist from
Jessica Salas which already doubled the lead from halftime 4-0. Presley wasn't finished as the team leader in goals notched her third multi-goal match and became the first Patriot player to reach double-digits in scoring.
This moment occurred in the 67
th minute off a pass from MacDonald as the Flower Mound, Texas, native posted back-to-back goals to bring her season total to 10. Nine of these scores have come in conference matches.

MacDonald was one of three players to post both a goal and assist for DBU. Her seventh goal of the season gave her two multi-goal games and ties her with Cox for second on the team.Ā

Cox was the other player in the trio of Patriots that scored and contributed an assist in the blowout. The native of Midlothian, Texas finished a unique shot that deflected off the left post. The advantage was advanced 7-0 at this point in the 83
rd minute and would conclude the Patriots successful day.

DBU outshot the Falcons 29-5 with 16 being placed as shots on goal. Presley led the barrage with six shots followed by freshman
Rebecca Kernen and Sedwick with four. Cox added three.

UTPB did post an opponent best three shots on goal during Dallas Baptist's shutout streak, but were unable to snap DBU's 649 minute span of having allowed a goal.

Earning the win was junior
Kerry Edwards (11-5-1) with her seventh straight win and 10
th shutout of the year. The keeper picked up three saves as she closes in on 200 for her career; needing only 11 now.

Bridget Esquivel (2-16) picked up nine saves and allowed seven goals in 90 minutes in the net.
Dallas Baptist finishes in second place overall, which ranks the squad as the two-seed in the Heartland Conference Tournament. The Patriots will play St. Mary's on Thursday at noon. Number one seed St. Edward's earns hosting rights, so the matches are scheduled to be played in Austin. The Hilltoppers will play the no. 4 seed Newman following DBU's contest. The winners advance to play in the Championship Match on Saturday.
