Offense Quiet for Men's Soccer at Colorado Christian

Box Score
LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Away from the Texas heat, the Dallas Baptist Men's Soccer team had to adjust Thursday night to a turf field, due to rainy conditions. Colorado Christian broke a scoreless game early in the second half and that's all the Cougars needed to send DBU (1-2) to its second consecutive defeat 1-0.

Weston Leake broke the knotted game at the 50:19 mark in the second half and put CCU (1-3) up 1-0. Luke Burgard was credited with the assist.

The first half was quiet for both squads with neither team able to get on the scoreboard. DBU held the advantage in shots 14-7. The Patriots were unable to push anything across the line.

A pair of sophomores led the Patriots in shots with Brian Robertson and Cameron Gilbert taking four. Junior Ryan Jackson added two. Senior Rodrigo Barrientos, and sophomores: Andrew Byrd, Matthew Buckwalter, and Phillip Lassiter all tallied an attempt.

Sophomore Chuck Schober (1-2) allowed the only goal, but did pull in two saves.

J. Calhoun (1-3) recorded three saves and claimed the win in the shutout.

Dallas Baptist remains on its season long road stretch with its fourth straight contest away from the home confines at Adams State University. Game time is at 12 pm on Saturday.
