Box Score

CANYON, Texas – After 110 minutes of action, No. 14 Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer team and No. 10 Metro State University failed to break a scoreless game, resulted in a 0-0 tie on Saturday afternoon. DBU (0-1-1) remains winless on the young season, but feels good battling another top 10 team opponent twice in last three days. The Patriots were defeated 3-1 by No. 9 Colorado School of Mines in Thursday's opener.

It was an even draw in the first half for both teams, with each team firing five shots. The game was tied 0-0 at halftime.

The Roadrunners outshot DBU 12-5 in the second half, but Patriot's junior goalkeeper, Kerry Edwards (0-1-1), didn't allow anything past her.  Her 10 saves on the game were important, but six in the second half alone forced the game to overtime.

Both teams combined for three shots in the overall overtime halves, and the game was concluded as a draw.

"Edwards had a huge game in goal and made several game changing saves," Head Coach Michelle Lenard offered postgame. "Several players stepped up today and made an impact."

Junior Jake Cox led the Patriots with three shot attempts and two shots on goal. A quartet of DBU players contributed with two shots in the game, including: senior Danielle Presley, junior Lea Sedwick, sophomore Lindsey Eccles, and sophomore Ashley Cox.

MSU goalkeeper, Nicole Jablonski (1-0-1), continued her goals not allowed streak to reach 200 minutes after posting back-to-back shutouts to begin the campaign. She picked up six saves in the match.

The Roadrunners had an offensive duo of Karisa Price and Brandi Farley each attempt six shots. Farley had a team high four shot attempts and Abby Rolph added three shots on goal.

"I was very proud of the girls today," Lenard announced. "We worked hard on our off day to make adjustments and the girls did a great job of putting it into today's game."

The sixth year coach added, "Both Mines and Metro are very good teams and this experience will make us better."

Dallas Baptist finishes the three game trip with a match Sept. 14 at Central Oklahoma. Game time is set for 4pm.
