Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

DBU Falls to Lubbock Christian

THE RUNDOWN
The road continues to be tough for the Dallas Baptist Volleyball team as they drop their third game in a row, after being swept, 3-0 by Lubbock Christian University. Erika Papadeas led the Lady Patriots with 15 kills and Tadam Mergener tied for a match high 18 digs.

DBU would come out aggressive as they would build an early 8-3 lead against LCU. As the set went on the Lady Chaps would surge back to tie up the set against the Lady Patriots at, 12. After the tie LCU would go on to gain the lead and build an advantage of, 20-15. Not letting the deficit deter them DBU would go on to rally and score seven straight points to regain the lead from LCU, 22-20 forcing the Lady Chaps to take a time out. From there the Lady Chaps and Lady Patriots would trade the lead pushing the set into extra points. With DBU up 27-26 on LCU, LCU would close the match scoring the final three points winning the match, 29-27.

The second set of the night would be the closest of the two teams as they would trade the lead 14 times. The Lady Patriots would gain the lead mid set on the Lady Chaps, 13-12, but LCU would go to score five straight points to claim the lead, 17-13. DBU would respond by scoring four of the next five points to be down by only one point. The lead would exchange many times before the Lady Chaps would claim victory in extra points, 26-24.

Despite their backs being against the wall the fight was still there for the Lady Patriots as they would not go out quietly. DBU battled late into the third set as the score was tied, 19. LCU would be able to fend off DBU as they scored six of the last seven points winning the set, 25-20 and closing the match.
