DBU Unable to Upset #25 West Texas A&M

THE RUNDOWN
The Dallas Baptist Volleyball team has yet to find their first win on this road trip as they lost to #25 West Texas A&M. Tadam Mergener and Tiara Gipson combined for 20 kills, while Kaycie Bird dished out 26 assists.

WT would start the first set with an early lead jumping out 3-0, but DBU would respond scoring seven of the next nine points taking the lead, 7-5. The Lady Buffs would go on a run of their own as they scored the next five points to regain the lead, 10-7. There would be another rally by the Lady Patriots as they scored eight of the next nine points forcing WT to take two time outs during the rally bringing the score to, 15-11. As the set went on DBU would fight off the Lady Buff's to secure the set victory in extra points winning, 27-25.

The Lady Buffs would come out strong in the second set against the Lady Patriots as they would build a large early deficit to keep DBU behind. WT built a ten point lead at one point, 19-9. The Lady Buffs would go on to control the second set and win, 25-13.
The third set would mirror the second set as WT would jump out to a big lead early and stifle DBU with their defense. The Lady Buffs would have a, 23-10 advantage before the Lady Patriots would try to put points together for a comeback. It would be too late as WT would close the set, 25-15.

In the fourth and final set the Lady Buffs would open the set going on a seven point run. WT would build a lead of, 12-2 before multiple point streaks helped DBU make the set competitive. The Lady Patriots would battle to come within one point of WT's 22-21 lead, but it would be too late as the #25 ranked Lady Buffaloes would close out the set scoring the final three points winning, 25-21.
