This contest is the sixth of a season-long, seven-match road trip.
The Patriots have a chance to notch their 10
th victory of the campaign. It would be the sixth season in a row for the team to eclipse that mark dating back to 2008.
Within the conference, DBU does boast 237 shots to pace the league in attempts.
DBU has been successful away from Patriot Soccer Field this season, boasting a 7-1-1 record, while winning the last seven-straight. Four of those contests were decided by a goal.
LAST TIME OUTDallas Baptist held off a late comeback, and extended a season-long winning streak to five in a row by defeating St. Mary's University, 3-2, on Monday. The Patriots scored twice in the second half, extending a one-goal halftime advantage to 3-0, before the Rattlers got back-to-back netters with less than 15 minutes of regulation to go.
A trio of Patriots found the back of the net including: juniors
Jolee Patterson and
Ashley Cox, and redshirt junior
Dixie Kurrus.
Patterson got the squad on top 1-0 with the only goal of the first frame, finishing a pass from senior
Jake Cox at the 29:03 minute mark.
Ashley Cox scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 52
nd minute, before moments later Kurrus punching her first goal of the campaign. Senior
Megan McDermand was credited with the assist on the final DBU scoring play of the affair.

Emilie MacDonald with four goals and 12 points. The duo are the only ones to have posted double figures in points this year.
Cox has produced a stellar road trip tallying at least a point in all five contests, marking a season-most.
On the current trip, Cox has posted nine points, garnering six by scoring a goal. Of her trio of assists, the most significant was the game-winner at Texas Woman's two weeks ago. The Midlothian, Texas, native also is atop of the shot and shots on goal categories with 56 and 21, respectively.
Patterson tied MacDonald for second on the team with her fourth goal of the season. The native of Royse City, Texas continues to bolster a career-best after surpassing the previous total of two in 2013.
The forward broke that mark in the middle of the road span, producing the Women's Soccer Team's lone multi-goal contest this season at Oklahoma Christian.
Senior
Lea Sedwick is right underneath the top three spots in points with seven, and is knotted for second with three assists on the squad with Cox. She is the remaining player with more than a goal, notching her second one last Saturday at Texas A&M International.
DEFENSIVE MINDEDDBU has won eight times via shutout (leads the Heartland), with the latest triumph occurring with the opponent able to get points on the board the first time in such a match. The streak was stalled at 414:36 minutes, as St. Mary's tallied a scoring play in the 76
th minute of Monday's contest.
That opposition scoreless stretch was a season-long for the Patriots at this point of the year. DBU has outscored the other team, 20-8, this season including a 7-3 edge in league play.
McDermand, a key member of the back line all season for DBU was recognized for her efforts, being named Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week. The Jamul, California, native is the third player to capture the accolade, as fellow classmates
Jake Cox and
Kerry Edwards earned it, respectively.
Last season, the team claimed a program-best, 15, and has posted 48 in the last four years.
SCOUTING THE HILLCATS Rogers State earned its first victory of the season last time out in a 4-2 decision at Texas-Permian Basin. It was the highest amount of goals recorded by the Hillcats too.
Paige Pontarolo and Blair Thomas each netted a pair of goals in the triumph, with three occurring in the opening half for the road squad. UTPB cut the deficit 2-1 in the 25
th minute, but Thomas' first goal at the 28:20 mark extended the lead back up.
RSU's leading scorer pushed the advantage to its largest of the day at the 47:43 point of the contest.
Pontarolo is the other player for the Hillcats with multiple goals and she accomplished the feat Monday to increase the amount to three.
Defensively, the squad has given up 55 goals, most in the Heartland. DBU is ranked second one behind St. Edward's.
SERIES HISTORYLast season was the first time these programs met on the pitch, with Dallas Baptist claiming a 2-0 win at home over the Hillcats.
MacDonald provided the only offense needed in the victory, notching two goals off six shots, second most on the team that match. It was the first of the Cedar Hill, Texas, native's two multi-scoring games on the campaign, and was the second of an eventual five-match point tallying run.
DBU held a 37-5 shot advantage as the team posted its seventh shutout of the season and fourth-straight conference win at the time.
UP NEXTDallas Baptist will wrap up the lengthy road trip at Newman University on October 27. Kickoff is slated for 12 PM.
