THE RUNDOWNDallas Baptist scored three unanswered goals, but the second half surge wasn't enough to overtake University of Texas-Permian Basin on Saturday night. The Patriots (3-13-1, 0-7) dropped a 4-3 match in overtime, and had their senior night spoiled by UTPB (2-12-1, 1-6). Five seniors were recognized prior to the contest.

The Falcons pushed a three-goal edge, sparked by two timely scoring results in the first half. The home team withheld pressure throughout the contest, as Texas-Permian Basin seemed in control.

However, at the 72:27 minute mark, DBU got a goal from freshman
Nathan McBride to shift the momentum. Suddenly the Patriots countered with a trifecta of netters in a six minute span to knot the affair.

The visiting squad benefited on a breakaway a little over a minute in extra regulation to secure the triumph. DBU was outshot 20-15 on the night.

Senior
David Balyeat and junior
Brian Robertson led the way offensively attempting six and four shots, respectively. The duo also added two points apiece as Balyeat had the game-tying goal and Robertson tallied a pair of assists on the first two scores.

Sophomore
Brandon O'Donovan also added a multi-shot match with a two shots.

HIGHLIGHTS The opening frame was controlled by UTPB, as the Patriots were contained offensively throughout the first 45 minutes. Nathan Cotterell snuck a goal by starting DBU keeper, junior
Chuck Schober, who also matched his goals allowed with a save through 17:47 minutes of action.

Logan Sharp notched his first of back-to-back scoring displays with the Falcons in the 25
th minute of the first half. He added his second goal and apparent game-sealer at the time in the 52:47 point through the contest.

DBU was outshot 16-7 before Robertson's free kick off a yellow card spurred a late run. McBride scored for the second time this season in his rookie season.

A couple moments later, Robertson found himself in a similar position within the 76
th minute mark, and this time teamed up junior
Cameron Gilbert for the team's second goal.

It was the Burleson, Texas, native's third time to score this season and broke a career-most.

Another free kick at the 78:52 minute mark, set up the typing scoring result for Balyeat. The team's leading shooter netted his second goal of the campaign, and was clutch on the senior's big night.

The midfielder was in position for a penalty kick with 55 seconds remaining in the contest, but would be declined by UTPB's keeper, Eric Beltran, who turned away two saves in the win.
