Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

DBU Falls to No. 17 Colorado School of Mines

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Volleyball team was unable to open up day one at the A&M-Commerce Classic on a positive note after being swept by the No. 17 ranked Colorado School of Mines. Tiara Gipson had a team high 9 kills and Kaycie Bird contributed a team high 26 assists.

Going into the first set the Orediggers gained an early 5-2 lead on the Lady Patriots. As the set went on DBU would climb back to within one to try and gain control with the Orediggers still ahead 17-16. CSM would then go on a 8-2 run to finish out the set 25-18.

The second set started out almost identical to the first as CSM once again jumped out to a 5-2 lead. Both the Lady Patriots and Orediggers would trade multiple point streaks of at least three points during the second set. After runs by both teams DBU would pull within two of CSM with the score at 23-21, but it would be too late as the Orediggers would close out the set 25-23.
In the third and final set down 24-14 DBU would go on a furious run to try and make a comeback but the Orediggers would close the match 25-19.
