Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls 2-0 on Saturday

THE RUNDOWN
The Dallas Baptist Men's Soccer Team dropped a 2-0 contest at Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday night. It was the first time on the campaign the Patriots (2-2) fell in shutout fashion.

Both squads battled hard in the first half, with the Bison outshooting the road squad, 8-3, in the frame. Regardless, the match was scoreless at intermission.

OBU (2-2) finally broke the stalemate in the 71st minute with Jonathan Martinez connecting on a goal from Vicente Castillo's pass that credited him with the assist.

An even shot flurry occurred for DBU and the Bison in the second stanza, with five apiece. However, the Patriots never found the back of the net and missed a few opportunities as the night progressed.

The home team sealed the affair at the 83:17 minute mark off a shot that ricocheted in off far post from Ruben Basurto.

TOP QUOTE
"We had our chances to win this game and put it out of reach but just couldn't find the back of the net. It is always tough to play on the road and takes a huge amount of focus which we have to get stronger at. We need to eliminate key errors that put us under and on our heels."
- Head Coach Chris Crawford

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Dallas Baptist continues its lengthy, five-game road trip at No.15 Metro State University on Monday, September 15 at 12 PM.

The remainder of the stretch away from Patriot Soccer Field includes matches on September 18 and 23 at West Texas A&M University and Ouachita Baptist University, respectively.
