THE RUNDOWN
The Dallas Baptist Men's Soccer Team dropped a 4-1 contest versus No. 15 Metro State University on Monday afternoon in Austin, Texas. The Patriots (2-3) have dropped back-to-back matches and are 1-2 on this five-game road trip.
 
After knotting things 1-1 off a goal from sophomore Riley Alvey, DBU couldn't muster enough offense to keep pace, being outshot 20-8 by the nationally ranked opponent.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
Alvey was one of two players to collect multiple shot attempts in the affair. The native of Hideaway, Texas also placed the only shots on goal with a pair, shooting a perfect 100 percent shots on goal. Redshirt sophomore Landon Lacy was the other player to notch two shots, joining the midfielder in that multi-shot category.
 
The first half was a back-and-forth battle as the Patriots evened the contest 1-1 at the 13:07 minute mark, just barely over 30 seconds after MSU got on the scoreboard with a goal by Dustin Berg.
 
Senior David Balyeat was credited with his second assist in his first game back since the season-opener.   
 
A goal by Jack Mayfield at the 38:51 mark put the Roadrunners back up the remainder of the game. MSU (3-0) would tack on two more goals in the final frame to remain undefeated.

Dallas Baptist wraps-up the remaining part of one of two five-game road trips beginning Thursday, September 18 at West Texas A&M University. Kickoff is at 7 PM.
September 20 features a match-up against Ouachita Baptist University with the affair set for 12 PM.
