Wells Lifts Women's Soccer Over West Texas A&M

GAME SUMMARY
The Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer Team captured a 1-0 victory at West Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon. DBU (3-2-1) has won three of its last four, and improves to 2-2 in contests decided by a goal.

The hero in this one for the Patriots was junior Annie Wells, who dialed the game-winner early into the second half. It is the midfielder's first netter this season and fifth in her career. She boasted four in 2012.

It was another defensive lockdown for the road squad, holding WTAMU (2-4) to four shot attempts in 90 minutes. Senior Kerry Edwards earned the win in her 75th career match, recording three saves the team's third shutout of the campaign.

HIGHLIGHTS
DBU held the shot edge in the first half, posting five total compared to the Lady Buffs' pair. For the fourth consecutive game the Patriots were involved in, the score was knotted heading into the break.

Wells didn't wait long to break through the backend of the net once the second half began. The native of Dallas, Texas, notched a perfect shot on goal percentage, going 2-for-2. She claimed the netter at the 46:19 minute mark.

Only junior Lindsey Eccles notched the other multi-shot match for DBU, tying Wells with two. The forward placed one of them on the target.

A quartet of Patriots rounded out the shots on goal category, including: juniors Jolee Patterson, Ashley Cox, Emilie MacDonald, and freshman McKenna Namken; helping complete the team's seven total.
