THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Volleyball team's three match win streak would be halted after being swept by the Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps 3-0.
Tiara Gipson led the Lady Patriots in kills with 11, while
Kaycie Bird had 28 assists.
Lubbock Christian started the first set by jumping out to a 6-0 lead and would continue to control the set from there forward. The Lady Chaps would go on to win the first set 25-14.The next set would be much closer as both teams would trade points early and often. Despite being behind by only two points for the majority of the set and being able to tie the set occasionally, the Lady Patriots were unable to grab hold of the lead and would fall in the second set as well by the score of 25-22.
In the third and final set LCU would ride the momentum of a 11-4 run to defeat DBU 25-13, completing the sweep of the match. The Lady Chaps were led by Maddie Johnson and Channing Castleberry who amassed for 30 kills.
