THE RUNDOWNThe Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer Team was unable to get enough offense in a 2-1 final versus No. 16 Metro State University on Saturday afternoon. It is the second-straight match the Patriots played a program ranked in the Top-25 NSCAA poll. On Thursday, DBU (0-1-1) tied No. 9 nationally ranked Colorado School of Mines 1-1.

Both squads had plenty of opportunities, as the Patriots outshot MSU (2-0) 17-15. The road squad also held a two-shot advantage in the shots on goal category, 8-6.

A goal from the Roadrunner's Brandi Farley in the second half was the difference maker in a tightly contested affair. Tess Hagenlock got credited with an assist that Farley finished from the right corner to far post on a high shot.

HIGHLIGHTSIt was a quick start for both teams, with junior
Jolee Patterson striking in the lone DBU goal of the match at the 6:45 mark. The native of Royse City, Texas, adds to her career list of scores with three, and eclipses the 10-point mark. Patterson's netter was belted from 35 yards out to beat the keeper from Metro State.

With still under 10 minutes into regulation, the Roadrunners answered with a goal from Hagenlock. She would boast a game-high, three points, after her assist in the final frame helped lift the nationally ranked foe. Karisa Price was awarded the assist after setting up the 15 yard kick for Hagenlock.

LEADING STATISTICS Five players had multi-shot efforts in DBU's first setback. Pacing the way was junior
Ashley Cox with four and also set a game-high two shots on goal. Junior
Emilie MacDonald followed with three contributing shots, while classmate
Lindsey Eccles added two. Senior
Lea Sedwick rounded out the trio with two as well.

Senior
Kerry Edwards took her first loss in the net on the campaign, but was effective in 90 minutes for the Patriots. The McKinney, Texas, native allowed two goals and nabbed four saves.

Her counterpart, Breanna Flores was a little more effective between the posts, protecting seven saves and only surrendering the one goal early into the contest.

Price had a team-high three shots. The duo pounding in the goals for MSU also had multi-shot matches. Hagenlock was perfect two-for-two with shots on goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERSBoth squads notched double figures in shot attempts by halftime, with Metro State having 11 and the Patriots accumulating 10.

Four was the number of corner kicks each team took, with the Roadrunners taking all of theirs in the second half.

DBU has played two of the Top 25 nationally ranked teams in the past three days.

MSU had six of its seven game-saves in the first half. Only save was recorded by either team in the final frame.

COACH'S WORDS"This weekend was a good experience for us. We went on the road and played two nationally ranked programs, and played well overall," Women's Soccer Head Coach
Michelle Lenard reflected. "Today was tough since there was still recovering from overtime on Thursday and it eventually caught up with us."

"We'll get back to work and prepare for our next games knowing we're better from this experience."
-Coach Lenard.
