KICKOFF
Dallas Baptist University began last week with a thrilling 2-1 win over Southern Nazarene, highlighted by junior forward Riley Alvey's goal in the 83^rd minute to lift the Patriots over the Crimson Storm.
 
The Patriots ended the week with a 1-0 road loss to Newman on Thursday, October 15. The Jets earned the lone goal of the match on a DBU own goal.
 
DBU travels to Austin, Texas, to take on Heartland Conference foe St. Edward's at Lewis-Chen Family Field at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14.
 
GAME-WINNING GOALS
With his 83^rd minute goal against Southern Nazarene, Riley Alvey picked up his third game-winning goal of the season. He lead the Heartland Conference and ranks 18^th in the nation in that category.  
 
STRINGER IN NATIONAL TOP 40
Mason Stringer continues to be among the nation's elite goalkeepers, ranking 23^rd in Division II in save percentage (.831), 28^th in saves per game (5.44) and 39^th in total saves (49).
 
SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS
No. 13 St. Edward's  lost their first match of the season against Midwestern State last week after starting out 7-0-2. Freshman forward Dylan Armstrong leads the Hilltoppers with five goals this season and junior midfielder Josh Taylor has accumulated seven assists.
 
Senior goalie Kevin Leib leads the Heartland Conference in goals against average (.376) and allowed just one goal in the team's first nine games before allowing three goals in the loss to Midwestern State.

DBU is 0-3 all-time against St. Edward's and lost last year's meeting by a score of 3-0.
