DBU Upsets No. 18 St. Edward's 2-1

THE LEAD
Dallas Baptist University defeated No. 18 St. Edward's 2-1 on Thursday at Lewis-Chen Family Field in Austin, Texas. Senior forward Ashley Cox scored the game-winning goal in the 55th minute by way of a misplaced header off a St. Edward's defender.
 
After the Hilltoppers took a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute on a goal by Jennifer Boudreau, senior forward Emilie MacDonald leveled the score on a penalty kick after being fouled in the box by Kelsey Kohler just before halftime.
 
Senior goalkeeper Jenna Ackerly saw only five shots and two shots on goal courtesy of a stingy Patriot defense.
 
IN THE NUMBERS
4 – The win over the Hilltoppers marks the fourth victory over a ranked team this season.
7 – DBU extended its unbeaten streak to seven matches on Thursday.
