KICKOFF
Dallas Baptist began Heartland Conference play with a 1-0 win over Rogers State on Thursday. Senior midfielder Alex Becerra scored the lone goal of the match off a pass from Cameron Gilbert in the 49^th minute.
 
Junior goalkeeper Mason Stringer made a season-high seven saves against the Hillcats, including one on a penalty kick in the final minute of the match. Rogers State outshot DBU 23-5.
 
The Patriots continue their Oklahoma road trip against Oklahoma Christian at Eagle Soccer Field in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Saturday, October 3, at Noon.
 
HEARTLAND CONFERENCE LEADERS
After registering seven saves in Thursday's game, Mason Stringer moved up to the top spot in the Heartland Conference in saves per game (5.33). Junior forward Riley Alvey ranks fourth in the conference in goals (5) and fifth in points (12).
