KICKOFF
Dallas Baptist University dropped its fourth-straight match in a 1-0 decision against Lubbock Christian on Thursday afternoon at Patriot Soccer Field. Tommy Fogarty scored the lone goal in the match for his sixth of the season and second game-winner.
 
Both defenses excelled as the Patriots placed one of their 11 shots on goal, and the Chapparals placed three of their 13 shots on goal. Sean Bouland made two saves in the net for DBU.
 
CHASING PROGRAM RECORD WIN TOTAL
The Patriots will try to tie the young program's record for single-season wins (6) from 2013. DBU has four home games remaining on the schedule to reach the milestone.
 
ALVEY AMONG HEARTLAND CONFERENCE BEST
Junior forward Riley Alvey ranks third in the conference in goals (7) and leads in game-winning goals (3). He also ranks fifth in points (16).
 
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
UTPB enters Saturday's match with a five game losing streak, most recently to St. Edward's by a score of 3-1. The Falcons have allowed the second-most goals in the conference (26), just one fewer than Lubbock Christian.
 
UTPB is led on offense by senior forward Nathan Cotterell, who leads the Heartland Conference in points (18) and goals per game (.889). On the defensive side, senior goalkeeper Justin Bryant ranks second in the conference and 16^th in the nation in total saves (72).
 
SERIES HISTORY
DBU is 0-2-1 all-time against UTPB and lost last year's meeting 4-3 in extra time. Cotterell scored the golden goal in the 92^nd minute to give the Falcons the win.
