Ashley Cox, the 2015 Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Year registered two assists and scored a goal of her own in the 62nd minute. Junior forward
Cecily Martinez opened the scoring in the match with a header off of a corner kick by Cox.

PATRIOTS DOMINATE CONFERENCE HONORSDBU placed nine girls on the Women's Soccer All-Heartland Conference team, announced by the league on Thursday.

Rebecca Kernen, and
Emilie MacDonald were each named to the First Team.
Maddie Owen,
Leah Draper,
Lindsey Washburn and
Jenna Ackerly were tabbed to the Second Team, while
McKenna Namken took home Third Team accolades.
Cox was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Year, and MacDonald was recognized as the league's Defensive Player of the Year. Head coach
Michelle Lenard earned Coach of the Year honors, after leading her squad to an 11-3-3 record in the regular season, including a 6-0-2 mark in the conference to clinch the team's third regular season title in five years.
FAMILIAR OPPONENTSSunday's final marks the fifth straight matchup between the two schools in the Heartland Conference title game. The Hilltoppers are 3-1 against the Patriots in the last four conference finals with all four games decided by just one goal. DBU claimed the Heartland Conference Tournament Championship in 2012 with a 1-0 victory.
COX CHASING 100Ashley Cox increased her career point total to 96 with her four-point performance on Friday. She is just four points away from 100 career points, a feat that hasn't been accomplished since Danielle Presley accumulated 110 points from 2011-13. Cox has registered 34 goals and 28 assists in her career.
SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERSSt. Edward's was second to DBU in All-Conference honorees with seven. The Hilltoppers placed five girls on the first team including Heartland Conference Player of the Year Katie Donahue and goalie Lorrie Santoy, who ranks second to Patriots keeper
Jenna Ackerly in goals against average (.545) and shutouts (10).
SERIES HISTORYDBU is 7-18 all-time against St. Edward's after sweeping the Hilltoppers in the regular season. The Patriots were the only team to shutout St. Edward's this season.
Ashley Cox scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over the Hilltoppers in Austin on October 15.
