To open up the first half DBU would rush out to a 7-0 lead over the Eagles. As the half continued OCU would go on to close the gap between the Patriots leaving DBU up 14-12. From there Oklahoma Christian would get hot from the field and go on a 17 point run to break away from the Patriots 29-14. OCU would shoot 64% from the field in the half.
Franklin Uzonwanne would score 18 of his 20 points in the first half which would be able to close the deficit to six points as the Eagles went into halftime with a lead of 51-45.
Oklahoma Christian would hold the lead for the majority of the second half until DBU would go on a late rally that would include a
Jordan Pratt lay up that would pull the Patriots to within three trailing OCU 91-88. Points from the charity stripe would extend the Eagles lead to 93-88, but with :24 left a
Myles Johnson thee pointer would put the Patriots behind by only two points 93-91.
The score would become 94-91, after OCU's Elijah Strickland connected on his first free throw before missing his second attempt, giving Dallas Baptist new life. Strickland would lead the Eagles with 23 points.With 11.5 seconds remaining coming out of the final timeout DBU would inbound the ball but a steal by OCU would seal the game for Oklahoma Christian.
