HOT START
Dallas Baptist won their second game in a row on Thursday, September 10, when the Patriots defeated Oklahoma Baptist 3-1 at Patriot Soccer Field. Redshirt freshman midfielder Brooks Friedman scored two goals to ignite the DBU victory.
 
The Patriots' unbeaten streak of three games to start the season is their longest in program history. They look to continue the streak on Thursday at the University of the Southwest. 
 
ALVEY CHASING POINTS RECORD
Riley Alvey's assist on Michalin Dennie's goal in last week's 3-1 victory over Oklahoma Baptist brought his career points total up to 29. He is six points away from tying David Balyeat's program record of 35 career points. Alvey has 12 career goals and five assists.
 
STRINGER ON GOOD PACE
Junior goalkeeper Mason Stringer has recorded 12 saves and a .02 goals against average in 290 minutes this season, all on pace to set single-season highs. He is projected to double his total saves (32) and minutes played (837:13) from 2014.
 
SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
Southwest is also on a two game win streak after defeating McMurry 2-0 on September 9, and throttling Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College 7-0 on September 12.  The Mustangs' biggest threat are the Negrete brothers. Edrian Negrete leads the team and the Red River Athletic Conference with six goals this season, and Edgar Negrete paces the team and the conference in assists with three.
