DBU Blanked by Southwestern Assemblies of God

THE LEAD
Dallas Baptist fell to Southwestern Assemblies of God 1-0 on Tuesday night in a tight match that saw just one goal scored in the first five minutes. In front of a crowd of 379 at Patriot Soccer Field, senior forward Robert Ambrosie scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season on a bicycle kick that snuck past DBU goalkeeper Sean Bouland.  Bouland finished the match with three saves.

The Patriots took 17 shots and placed six on goal, but could not manage an equlizer in the final 85 minutes. Midfielder Riley Unger led DBU with four shots, followed by forward Riley Alvey with three. The Patriots fall to 2-3-1 on the year while the Lions improved their record to 3-3-1.

COACH DUTCHIK - ON IMPROVEMENTS THAT NEED TO BE MADE
"The biggest thing is we need to find a consistent intensity, and with that intensity comes a focus. We have a style that we like, and it really comes down to the boys stepping up and playing the DBU way, which is with focus and intensity and really attacking with numbers. We just haven't seen it in the last few games."

IN THE NUMBERS
1 - Both defender David Fraga and Bouland made their first career starts on Tuesday.
13 - DBU and SAGU each committed 13 fouls.
11 - The Patriots had 11 different players take at least one shot.
