DBU Defeats No. 14 St. Edward's 2-0

THE LEAD
Dallas Baptist defeated No. 14 St. Edward's by a score of 2-0 on Thursday, giving head coach Michelle Lenard her 100th victory at DBU. The Hilltoppers were limited to just 10 players for the majority of the match after freshman defender Kelsey Kohler received a red card for a tackle on senior forward Ashley Cox.

The Patriots capitalized on the red card in the 52nd minute, when senior forward Lindsey Eccles gathered a rebound off of the crossbar and scored on an empty net to give DBU a 1-0 lead. Sophomore forward McKenna Namken extended the Patriot lead in the 65th minute when she placed a shot past St. Edward's goalie Lorrie Santoy.

DBU goalkeeper Jenna Ackerly made four saves in the match to preserve the Patriots' lead. DBU improves to 3-3-1 on the season and hands St. Edward's just its second loss of the season.
