THE LEAD
The Lady Patriots opened up their first of five straight home games complete match that gave them the victory over Southeastern in four sets. DBU put together what Coach Kokel has been talking about, defense leading to efficient offense.
Madeline Dolberry whom had one of her finest performances this season led the Lady Patriots with season highs, 7 blocks, 3 aces, and a match leading 15 kills.
Hannah Hester was passing the effectively for DBU tonight as she recorded a season-high, 23 assists. While
Lauren Nicks continued her stellar play by adding a game-high, 26 digs for the Lady Patriots.

After the first set began with a quick SE 3-0 lead, the rest of the match was all DBU. The momentum really shifted when the Lady Patriots recorded a 5-0 and a 6-0 run to give them a 10-17 lead. The lead was too big for Southwestern as they eventually fell 17-25.

The second set started differently with DBU jumping out to a 0-3 lead. After the game was tied up at 8 apiece, SE enjoyed the lead up to the 20
th point where the Lady Patriots were able to tie it up again. The set was tied back up at 25 and 26 until Southeastern stole the last two points to give them a 28-26 win.

SE owned the beginning of the third set by getting out to a commanding 8-1 lead. With a 5-point and a 4-point run by DBU, the Lady Patriots fought themselves back in the game and tied it up at 15-15. The end of the match ended with 3 straight by DBU, which gave the Lady Patriots a 22-25 victory.

The fourth set was a battle throughout and both teams traded points. That was until the DBU turned on the jets at the right time as the Lady Patriots went on a 6-1 run to win the set and the match with an 18-25 victory.
