The Dallas Baptist University Men's Soccer team defeated Oklahoma Christian University, 1-0, on Thursday night at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas.
Jacob Garcia netted the eventual gamewinner just 59 seconds into the match, and a stingy Patriot defense, led by freshman goalkeeper Tyler Hoffman, held off the Eagles down the stretch.
Tyler Hoffman made seven saves in the match, including a crucial stop with just over six minutes to play in the match on a shot by Sergio Flores, who led the Eagles with four shots and two on goal.

DBU looks to build on the win against No. 19 Midwestern State at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas.

The Mustangs are riding a seven-game winning streak entering Saturday's match, highlighted by a 1-0 upset of No. 3 St. Edward's on Thursday night in Austin, Texas. Gabriel Cavalcante, the co-team leader in points along with  Christian Okele, scored his sixth goal of the season for the gamewinner against the Hilltoppers.

MSU's defense is led by goalkeeper Noah Fazekas who has recorded six shutouts in the Mustangs' seven-game win streak, along with 25 saves and just one goal allowed. MSU's defense ranks second to St. Edward's in goals allowed (8), goals against average (.530) and save percentage (.837).
