Lady Patriots Outshine Oklahoma Panhandle State

THE LEAD
The Lady Patriots took full advantage of their six days off as they shined in a 3-0 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State. DBU had many noteworthy performances in this match in front of their home crowd. Among the Lady Patriots leading the way, Madeline Dolberry with a match leading 10 kills and Strealy Sizelove who also led the match by added another 32 assists to her season total.
 
The Lady Patriots had a plan to make a statement early in the match and they succeeded after creating a 3-9 lead when they scored four straight. DBU really pulled away when they scored five consecutive points. The Lady Patriots solidified the first set victory with a powerful kill by Dolberry.
 
The second set of the match was possibly DBU's strongest set of the season. They got off to impressive 0-6 lead with Sidnee Jo Fitzpatrick starting the match with authority. The Lady Patriots went on another run with four straight points, two of which were service aces for Sizelove. This brought the score to 2-10 Lady Patriots. DBU went on the have two more impressive runs lead by Hannah Hester and Holly Benoit as DBU won the set 10-25.
 
The Lady Patriots jumped to a 0-3 lead in the third set with Hannah Ballew serving. OPSU clawed back and tired the game up at three separate occasions with the last being at 7-7. The Lady Patriots really pulled away with Lauren Nicks leading the team to a 4-0 run and a comfortable 13-23. DBU closed out the set 15-25 to win the match.
