Starting pitcher
Colin Poche (4-0) threw six scoreless innings and struck out seven Bisons to earn the win. Lipscomb starter John Pryor (0-3) suffered the loss after allowing seven runs on five hits in just 3 1/3 innings of work.

After failing to get a hit in the first two innings, the Patriots emerged in the third inning and put four runs on the board, highlighted by a two-run single by Reynolds. Right fielder
David Martinelli ripped a two-RBI triple into deep right-center field in the fourth to fuel a three-run inning for DBU.

The Bisons got on the board in the seventh inning by way of a RBI double off the bat of Von Watson. DBU regained a seven-run lead in the bottom of the seventh on a throwing error by third baseman Zeke Dodson, allowing center fielder
Jameson Hannah to score. After DBU loaded the bases,
Justin Wall drew a walk to bring in third baseman
Tim Millard.

Landon Wilson struck out the side in the top of the eighth before the Patriots continued their offensive success on an RBI-double by Reynolds. The Bisons chipped away at the lead in the top of the ninth on a bases-loaded double by Michael Gigliotti that brought in two runs.
