KICK-OFF
The No. 7 DBU Women's Soccer team is coming off a 15-4-3 season in 2015, which came to an end in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship. After winning both the Heartland Conference Regular Season and Tournament titles, the Patriots advanced to the quarterfinals of the national tournament, where they fell to No. 1 seed Western Washington.

DBU's offense was led by Second Team All-American and Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Year
Ashley Cox, who scored 12 goals and registered five assists for a team-high 29 points. The Patriots' defense excelled thanks to First Team All-American defender
Emilie MacDonald, the Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and Second Team All-Conference goalkeeper
Jenna Ackerly.

The Patriots begin the 2016 campaign against No. 23 Colorado School of Mines on Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. at Stermole Stadium.

SCOUTING COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES
The Orediggers' 15-5-2 season came to an end at the hands of the Patriots in the second round of the 2015 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship. Colorado School of Mines' balanced offensive attack was led by Acacia Ortiz and Haley Cole, who each registered 16 points. The Orediggers return their top six scorers from 2015, including Ortiz and Cole.

Sam Zumbro carried a majority of the load in goal for Colorado School of Mines, making 46 saves in 14 games, while Jayln Yates registered 28 saves in 10 games. With Yates gone, Zumbro is the probable everyday goalie for the Orediggers in 2016.

SERIES HISTORY
DBU is 2-1-2 all-time against Colorado School of Mines, coming off a 2-0 win over the No. 21 Orediggers in the second round of the 2015 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship at Patriot Soccer Field. Â
Ashley Cox recorded her third multi-goal performance in seven matches with two converted headers in the fourth and 69th minutes.
