THE LEAD
The No. 7 Dallas Baptist University Women's Soccer team lost to No. 23 Colorado School of Mines 5-0 in the season opener on Thursday evening at Stermole Stadium in Golden, Colorado. Cari Smith and Emily Townsend each registered a goal and an assist to lead the Orediggers' attack.
Cecily Martinez carried the load for the Patriot offense with three shots and one on goal.
Ocoee Wilson made five saves in the first half before handing over goalkeeper duties to
Hope Koym, who recorded four saves in the second half.
