KICK-OFF
The Dallas Baptist University Men's Soccer team defeated Southwest Baptist University, 1-0, on Saturday night at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas. Riley Alvey scored the gamewinner in the 53rd minute after receiving a chested pass from Brooks Friedman across the box.

Goalkeeper Sean Bouland made two crucial saves to preserve his second shutout victory of the season.
 
DBU begins Heartland Conference play against St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m., on Thursday at the Sigma Beta Chi Field  in San Antonio, Texas.
 
PATRIOT STORYLINES
 - The gamewinner last weekend marked a triumphant return to the starting lineup for Riley Alvey, who missed the first three games due to injury.
 
 - The Patriots have allowed just one first half goal this season.
 
 - Sean Bouland has not allowed a goal in 198:15 minutes of play this season.

SCOUTING ST. MARY'S
After kicking off the season with a 3-0 win over Oklahoma Baptist, the Rattlers went 0-1-1 last week to fall to 1-1-1. Patricio Botello Faz has been the leader of a relatively-balanced scoring attack, scoring two goals and recording two assists.
 
Jack Moore has played all 290 minutes in goal for St. Mary's, allowing five goals out of 44 shots faced.  Moore has registered 13 saves.
 
SERIES HISTORY
DBU is 1-3-0 all-time against the Rattlers, and lost last season's meeting in Dallas, 2-0. Ignacio Fernandez scored the first goal and assisted on the second for St. Mary's.
