Patriots Survive Against St. Mary's, 1-0

THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist University Men's Soccer team outlasted St. Mary's, 1-0, in the Patriots' Heartland Conference opener on Thursday night at Sigma Beta Chi Field in San Antonio, Texas. Riley Alvey scored the game winner in the 20th minute of the match after collecting a loose ball and beating keeper Mauricio Albo for his second goal of the season.

Sean Bouland registered another clean sheet, making three saves on 25 shots faced. DBU improves to 3-1-1 on the season, while the Rattlers fall to 1-2-1.
