THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist University Women's Soccer team earned their first Heartland Conference victory as they defeated Oklahoma Christian, 3-1, on Thursday night at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas.
McKenna Namken scored the opening goal and assisted on the second and third goals to lead the Patriots' offense.
Namken opened the scoring in the fourth minute of the match, receiving a pass from
Lindsey Washburn before she dribbled past the defender and found the back of the net at a tough angle.
Geneva Martinez made it 2-0 in the 61st minute, collecting a cross from Namken and putting a second goal past Carina Schanz.
Washburn tacked on the third goal just a few minutes later, finishing off a cross from
McKenna Namken.
Hope Koym made six saves in goal, before handing over duties to
Grace Johnson, who allowed a goal to Rubi Villegas in the 89th minute.

"We feel good to get three goals. We've been having troubles scoring, that's no secret. They were good goals. We had a lot of really good chances. We felt like we deserved to walk away with that win. That's the expectation. We take a deep breath and enjoy it for about five minutes."
