KICK-OFF
The Dallas Baptist University Men's Soccer team lost to Texas A&M International University, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon at Dustdevil Soccer Field in Laredo, Texas. Michael Izkander scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the Dustdevil offense.

TAMIU took a 2-0 lead after goals by Aaron Zuniga and Rafael Montabes in the 27th and 28th minutes, respectively. Josiah Benjamin tacked on a third goal in the 50th minute off a corner kick from Izkander, who scored the final goal in the 75th minute after the rebound off a Sean Bouland save.

Landon Lacy trimmed the margin back to three goals in the 85th minute after collecting the rebound off a save and putting it past goalkeeper Antonio Romero.
 
DBU returns home to face UT-Permian Basin at 7 p.m., on Thursday at Patriot Soccer Field.
 
PATRIOT STORYLINES
 - TAMIU was the first team to score against Sean Bouland, who entered the match as the conference-leader in goals against average and save percentage.
 
 - DBU looks to stay unbeaten at home after winning the first two home contests of the year.
 
 - Alvey is tied atop the conference in gamewinning goals (2).

 - Sean Bouland ranks second in the Heartland Conference in shutouts (2) and third in goals allowed (3).
 
SCOUTING UTPB
The Falcons snapped a four-game losing streak to start the season with a 2-2 draw with Rogers State at home last weekend. No UTPB player has scored more than one goal, with six different goalscorers in five games. The Falcons lost their top two scorers from the 2015 season, including Second Team All-Heartland Conference selection Nathan Cotterell.
 
Alec Sproule has started in goal for all five matches, but has allowed just over two goals per game. He has made 10 saves on 57 shots faced.
 
SERIES HISTORY
DBU improved its all-time record against UTPB to 1-2-1 with a 1-0 victory over the Falcons in Dallas in 2015. Brooks Friedman scored the game winner in the 80th minute, and Sean Bouland earned his first win of the season.
