KICK-OFF
The Dallas Baptist University Women's Soccer team completed a 2-0-0 homestand with a 1-0 win over Lubbock Christian on Saturday, September 17, at Patriot Soccer Field. McKenna Namken scored the gamewinner just 44 seconds into the match.

On a DBU throw-in, Namken headed the ball to Lindsey Washburn, who headed into the path of Namken for a clear header on goal. The Patriots survived the ensuing 89:16 by stingy defense and five saves by goalkeeper Hope Koym.

The Patriots begin a five-game roadtrip against Newman at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wilkins Field in Wichita, Kansas.

PATRIOT STORYLINES
 - All four of DBU's goals this season have either been scored or assisted by McKenna Namken.

 - DBU has not allowed a first-half goal in five straight matches.

 -  In both of the DBU's wins so far, they have placed 12 of 17 shots on goal.

 - Hope Koym is third in the conference in saves (27) and shutouts (2).

SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets are off to hot start in 2016, and the key has been defense. Newman has allowed just one goal in seven matches. However, the Jets have had little support on the offensive side of the ball, resulting in three 0-0 ties. The most notable draw came against a high-scoring St. Mary's team, which averages five goals per game.

Erin Mink and Morgan Foster, a 2015 Third Team All-Heartland Conference selection, have scored two goals each to pace the Jets' offense. Kelsi Langley and Ashley Sweetnam have shared time in goal, combining for 32 saves. Newman also returns 2015 All-Conference honorees Madison Decker, Quincy Plank and Korrie Raney.

SERIES HISTORY
DBU is 6-1-2 all-time against Newman after battling to a 0-0 draw in last season's meeting in Wichita, Kansas. Jenna Ackerly made six saves in the match, and was later named Heartland Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
