The Dallas Baptist University Men's Soccer team defeated Lubbock Christian University, 3-2, on Saturday, September 24, at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas.
Riley Alvey scored the game winner in the 79
th minute to break a 2-2 tie.
The Patriots took a 2-0 lead in the first half off goals from
Brooks Friedman and
David Fraga before surrendering the lead in the second half. The Chaps found the back of the net in the 66
th and 69
th minutes to erase the DBU lead.
Sean Bouland made seven saves before handing over duties to
Tyler Hofmann, who held LCU scoreless over the final 19 minutes.

DBU hits the road to play Newman University on Thursday at Wilkins Field in Wichita, Kansas.

PATRIOT STORYLINES
 - DBU's 4-3-1 record is their best start through their first eight matches since the program returned to campus in 2012.

SCOUTING NEWMAN
After starting the season 0-2-0, the Jets have been undefeated in their last six matches, including a 3-0-1 record in conference play and a 4-0-0 mark at home. Newman has outscored its opponents 12-3 in that span.

Carlos Rubio Garcia and Tommy Fiszel have led the Jets with a trio of goals each. Garcia has also tacked on two assists for a team-leading eight points. Newman's goalkeeping duties have been split between Blake Andrews and Dillon Callum, who have combined to make 30 saves and only allowed three goals each.
